About K&G POWER WASHING and LAWN CARE LLC

Havana sits where the Spoon River hands itself over to the Illinois, on ground so sandy you can feel it change underfoot two blocks off the water. K&G POWER WASHING and LAWN CARE LLC mows that sandy Mason County turf, trims it tight and edges it clean, week after week through the long humid middle of the summer. Sand dries fast and burns faster, so lawns here need their own kind of reading — where the shade holds, where the slope sheds, where the grass will need a lighter touch in August. Late in the day the towboats push through downriver and the light off the water turns everything soft, which is a fine hour to look back at a yard cut straight. Come autumn, the leaves come off the river timber and the cleanups begin.
