About 3 J'S Lawn Services

Route 14 comes into Harvard on the slant, following the rail line the way water follows a valley, and on a January morning that road is the first thing 3 J'S Lawn Services watches. The plow rolls out while the town is still porch lights and blue snow, and by the time the coffee is on, a driveway is a clean rectangle with its corners squared and salt down on the walk. Come May the same routes turn green and the work becomes mowing, trimming and edging — long straight passes that leave a yard looking combed. There is a real satisfaction in the last stripe laid parallel to the curb, and in a lot opened so early that nobody had to think about it. Snow removal and lawn care, all through McHenry County's northern edge.
