Hanna's year splits cleanly in two, and Havens Lawn Care LLC works both halves of it. From spring through fall it is mowing on a set day, trimming close where a deck cannot reach, edging walks and drives, and clearing the yard once the leaves finally let go. Then the wind turns and the same trucks come out with plows, opening driveways and walks in the dark before anybody needs to leave, spreading salt where ice sets up hard. There is something particular about a winter morning when the whole countryside is white and one drive is black pavement, done and waiting. Two kinds of work, one idea — a place looks after itself because somebody looked after it.
