About Sargent's Landscaping

Hamilton looks straight across the Mississippi at Keokuk, and on a May morning the river fog lifts slowly, uncovering the long line of Lock and Dam 19 and a towboat nosing its barges upstream. Sargent's Landscaping keeps the grass in line in this Hancock County river town, where yards catch the breeze coming off the water. Spring along the big river is lush and quick, and grass grows thick in the damp air. The work is about putting that lushness in order: a smooth cut, borders trimmed true, a lawn fit for a town with a front-row seat on the Mississippi. Watching the barges slide past from a fresh-mown yard is a grand way to spend an evening.
