About Logan Agri-Service, Inc.

Griggsville leaves its purple martin towers standing all winter, white and empty over the rooftops while the hills of Pike County go quiet and hard. Logan Agri-Service works those months on the same roads it serves in the growing season, pushing snow off farm lots, machine sheds and driveways so a day can start on time. Up on the ridges above the Illinois River bottoms the wind packs a drift tight as a bale, and that is the kind cut back to the gravel and salted where the grade wants to turn to glass. There is plain satisfaction in a wide farmyard opened corner to corner, room enough to swing a truck and trailer without a second thought. Long before the martins come back, the pavement here has already been dry a hundred mornings.
