Ground Up Enterprises

About Ground Up Enterprises

Grayslake keeps its water close — the lake right in the middle of town, the marsh grass out across the savanna — and in winter that low, open ground breathes cold up into the neighborhoods. Ground Up Enterprises runs the snow through those months, plowing drives and lots, opening walks and entries, and spreading salt where shade holds ice long past noon. Lake County snow comes sideways as often as it comes straight down, so the work starts early and it repeats. A driveway squared to the pavement before the morning train fills up is the entire aim of a night like that. Storms take the route through Grayslake, Round Lake, Hainesville, Third Lake and Libertyville.
