By late June the corn around Grant Park stands taller than a fence post and the horizon has gone green and close. Woody's Lawn Maintenance keeps the village side of all that green, mowing, trimming around posts and foundations, edging the walks and cleaning up behind the machine. Prairie sun is hard on turf in August, so the cut height goes up and the passes get planned around the heat of the afternoon. There is real pleasure in pulling out of a yard where the lines are even and the drive has been blown clean of clippings. Small town, tidy lots, and work you can read from the road.
