About Dettmering Snow Removal Co.

Grant Park sits where the Kankakee County prairie runs flat to the Indiana line, and in February the wind has nothing to slow it down but a farmstead windbreak. Dettmering Snow Removal Co. runs against that wind, plowing drives and lots and opening the walks that drift shut overnight. Out here snow does not simply fall, it travels, and a lane cleared at midnight can need clearing again by five. So the trucks go back out, ahead of the school buses and ahead of the first commuter reaching the end of the drive. A black, open driveway on a white morning is a small thing that changes the shape of somebody's whole day.
