A February night in Henry County can drop twenty degrees between supper and midnight, and whatever melted at noon comes back as glass. Kurt Gehn Landscaping & Snow spends those hours out ahead of it — plowing lots and drives, clearing sidewalks and entryways, and spreading salt on the places that always ice first: the shaded north side, the low corner, the slope down to a garage door. The lot near the park sits white and silent at two in the morning; by seven it has to be safe under a pair of boots. Snow work is mostly the hours nobody sees, which is exactly why the morning feels effortless to everyone else. That is the trade, and it suits this town fine.
