About Unique Landscaping Service Inc.

Fox Lake wakes to water most of the year — Pistakee, Grass Lake, the Fox River threading the Chain — and then one week in December the whole thing goes still and white. Unique Landscaping Service Inc. works that half of the calendar, plowing drives along the lake roads and clearing the walks of houses built with summer in mind. Storms slide down out of Wisconsin carrying a lot of moisture, and the lanes back to the water are narrow and curving, easy to lose under a foot of snow. Salt and ice control earn their keep on a drive that pitches down toward a channel in the shade. The good part is a lane opened all the way to the door while the ice is still in shadow.
