About Smith Tree & Stump LLC

When the wind swings northwest across Clay County there is nothing between Flora and the weather but a few miles of stubble. Smith Tree & Stump LLC runs the plow through it — lots opened before the doors do, drives cleared down to the concrete, walkways shoveled and salted so the entrance is safe to use. Drifting is the stubborn part out here: a lane cleared at midnight can close again by five, so the route comes back around. Along the old rail line the snow banks up against everything standing, and the trick is putting it where the next storm still has room. A cleared lot on a white morning looks like the day is going to work out.
