Howard Street is the seam where this town meets the city, and the blocks just north of it hold tight yards, brick three-flats and driveways barely wider than a car. Lupe's Lawn Services works at that scale in both directions of the year. Warm months: mowing on a weekly turn, trimming close where fences crowd the grass, edging so the concrete stays concrete, and cleanups at each end of the season. Cold months: plowing and shoveling those same narrow drives, clearing walks and stairs, salting the spots that glaze over first. A tight lot is harder to finish than an open one, and it looks better when it finally is.
