Elm Grove keeps its shade — curved lanes, deep parkways, canopies meeting overhead across the street, and a creek running quiet behind the back fences. Saturday morning the mowers start up, and Mow Bro's Lawn & Landscaping LLC is out among them, cutting clean stripes, trimming around play sets and downspouts, edging the drive until the line stands up on its own. Feeding and weed control take care of the thin places where the shade wins the argument. Mulch goes in along the bed lines each spring and the leaves come out of them each fall. It is a village that looks after its yards, and this is the part where somebody actually does the looking after.
