About Polar Bear Solutions

Three in the morning, February, the wind coming across the open ground west of the village with nothing at all to break it. Polar Bear Solutions is out in that — plow down, lights on, cutting driveways and lots open while the storm is still writing itself across the pavement. The work goes push, stack, salt, come back, because a wind like this refills a clean apron in the time it takes to finish the block. There is a real quiet to those hours, long before the first commuter, just headlights and the scrape of steel. Then daylight arrives, and a village that gets to go about its business.
