In October the hollows around East Peoria fill with oak and maple leaf, and the wind stacks it against every fence line and foundation in town. Woods Lawn Care mows through that season and hauls the leaves out of it, then trims and edges what is left so lawns go into the cold looking tended rather than abandoned. Come January the same trucks carry plows, opening driveways and salting the walks that ice over where sun never quite reaches. Between the two ends of the year there is mulch to set, spring cleanup to do, and a mowing route that runs all summer. A yard on this side of the river is asked to do a great deal, and the work is keeping it able.
