Nature's Way

About Nature's Way

This is unglaciated country — the Driftless — where the ice never came through to flatten anything, so the land around Dunleith kept its hollows, its rock outcrops and its stubborn oak hillsides. Nature's Way mows and trims the lawns tucked into all that geography: yards that run level and then fall away, corners a wide mower deck will never reach, banks that take a walk-behind and a steady arm. Grass out here answers to the weather more than to the calendar, greening early on a warm south bank and going quiet in an August dry spell. The job is to read that and cut accordingly, week by week, plus the cleanup that keeps a yard in order from thaw to leaf-fall. A lawn kept in step with its own ground looks effortless, which is exactly how it ought to look.
