Sheer landscaping

About Sheer landscaping

June comes early to the parkway maples on Maple Avenue, and by seven the light is already sliding down between the burr oaks at the edge of Lyman Woods. That is when Sheer landscaping is out with the mowers, walking a yard the long way first and then the short, until the whole lawn reads as one grain. The edge along the front walk gets cut clean enough to lay a finger in, a thin dark line that somehow makes the green look greener. Trimming, feeding and the seasonal cleanups all follow the same idea: a yard on these easy rises west of Chicago should look like somebody loves it. Come evening, when the sprinklers tick on down the block, the work speaks for itself.
