Green AF

About Green AF

Along Butterfield Road the office buildings sit back on wide green aprons, and at noon in midsummer the mowing lines are visible from four floors up. Green AF works that kind of ground and the neighborhood lots too, cutting on a schedule tight enough that nobody has to ask. Trimming around sign bases and light poles, edging where turf meets concrete, then clearing the walks so the whole thing reads finished rather than merely cut. Downers Grove is a town of first glances — the drive-by, the short walk from the car — and a lawn either holds up to one or it doesn't. Come November the mowers give way to leaf work and the aprons go bare and tidy for winter.
