April in Decatur arrives sideways — seventy degrees by the Transfer House in Central Park one afternoon, gray and forty the next, with the grass growing straight through both. Community Services LLC starts the season there, clearing off the winter litter and matted leaves so the first cut has something clean to work with. From then on it is mowing, trimming, edging and steady upkeep, week after week, from the downtown blocks out to the newer streets on the edge of town.
