About YHFP

September evenings in Danville go gold for about an hour. The light comes in low across the water at Lincoln Park and lies flat over the river bottoms east of town, and it is a very good hour to stand back and look at a lawn. YHFP finishes its days in that light — cut, trim the fence line, edge the walk, one last blower pass across the drive before the shadows join up. Grass mowed clean catches a low sun differently than grass left shaggy, and anybody who has stood on a porch at dusk in this town already knows it. A small thing, done right, week after week, is the whole of the job and plenty.
