About Jackson & Son Landscaping Inc

In Crystal Lake the snow usually shows itself over the water first, a gray line crossing the lake before it reaches the streets above. Jackson & Son Landscaping Inc plows through those nights — drives and lots opened, walks cleared to the door, salt on the steps and on the grade where ice likes to set. A glacier shaped McHenry County, so nothing here is quite flat, and a driveway that climbs from the road needs the blade taken all the way down or the morning turns into a problem. The trains leave early, and the measure of a good night is a commuter who backs out at 5:40 without a second thought. When the storm quits, the drives are open, the piles are set back off the corners, and the town gets its morning.
