Creve Coeur climbs the bluff on the east bank of the Illinois River, its streets stacked in terraces with Peoria's lights across the water. Just a Mow Lawn Care mows those terraces all summer, taking short steep front yards, back lots that fall away toward the ravines, everything cut to sit level even where the ground refuses. When the valley fogs cold and snow comes down over the bluff roads, the same trucks turn to plowing and clearing drives that pitch straight up off the street. A hillside town makes ordinary work exact: a mower has to be handled, a blade has to be placed. Standing at the top of one of those drives on a January morning, clear pavement all the way down, is its own quiet reward.
