By mid-October the bur oaks around Clear Lake are still holding on while everything else lets go, and the yards fill faster than anybody can keep up with. T&B All Purpose Services takes on the long tidy at the end of the year: closing mowings, leaves pulled off the turf and out of the beds, trimming and edging so the lines hold under whatever winter brings. Earlier in the season it is the weekly rhythm instead, mow, trim, edge, blow off, move on. A lawn in central Illinois is a year-long conversation, and it goes better when somebody answers on time. Left in good shape in November, a yard wakes up in April already halfway there.
