Snow falling on Chillicothe at midnight makes the town nearly silent — streetlights hazed, the river gone invisible, everything holding still. Tim Peters Landscapes is awake in it, plowing drives, clearing walks and steps, putting down salt where the melt will refreeze before dawn. A storm night has its own rhythm: run the route, watch it fill back in, run it again. By the time kitchen windows start lighting up along the block, the pavement is dark and the banks are stacked well out of the way. Quiet work, and nobody has to give it a thought — which is precisely the point.
