Chicago Snow Removal

About Chicago Snow Removal

The morning after a big one, South Side streets are all narrowed by hand — spots dug out, chairs set in them, everybody's night of labor standing there in plain view. Chicago Snow Removal does that same work at scale: plowing lots and driveways, shoveling walks and steps, breaking the heavy plow ridge at the curb, salting wherever shade will turn slush to glass. Storms come up the south branch of the river and spread across the flat blocks with nothing at all to slow them. The crew runs the route in order, then runs it again if the sky isn't finished. Bare pavement by daybreak is a thing worth being proud of.
