About 606 Property Services

Above Bloomingdale Avenue the old rail line runs east and west through the neighborhood like a raised seam, and the streets beneath it fill first when a storm swings down out of Wisconsin. 606 Property Services is out under those bridges while the sodium lights are still the only light there is, plowing lots, cutting walks down to bare concrete, laying salt at the stoops and the curb cuts. Wind on this side of town comes crosswise between the two-flats and rebuilds a drift an hour after you clear it; the answer is simply to go back. By the time the shops unlock, the paths read as clean gray lines. There is real pleasure in a driveway that looks like nothing ever happened to it.
