October in the old village center means oak leaves, thousands of them, coming down over lawns that were mowed all summer long. G&H Lawn Care closes out the season on those properties — the last cuts of the year, edges trimmed back sharp, and the fallen litter cleared so the grass goes into winter clean rather than smothered. Earlier in the year the same yards get the steady treatment: mowing on a rhythm, string trimming around every post and stone the mower has to respect. It is unglamorous and completely visible, which is a fair enough trade. Nobody compliments a tidy yard, but everybody notices one.
