About Hopes Tree Service LLC

Chenoa stands where old Route 66 crosses US 24, a grain elevator for a landmark and corn to the horizon in every other direction. Hopes Tree Service LLC tends the town's planted shade — the maples and lindens somebody set out generations back to make a yard livable on open prairie. Pruning a young tree here decides what it will be at forty; trimming an old one keeps it clear of the porch, the pole and the drive. Storms cross this stretch with room to run, and after one there is a morning of cutting and hauling before a street looks like itself. When a tree is finished, they take it out cleanly and leave the ground open to the sky, and the wind goes back to having its way.
