There is a week every November when the mower decks come off in the shop and the plow frame goes on, and that week is the hinge of the whole year for LM Landscaping. On one side of it: Chemung yards cut and edged through the long green stretch from April to leaf-fall, the mowing lines laid straight enough to sight down. On the other: cold starts in the dark, drives pushed open, walks scraped and treated after a night of Clipper snow coming down out of the northwest. The same trucks, the same driveways, the same names on the route sheet. Doing both means the ground under a customer's feet is somebody's responsibility every month of the calendar.
