By late August, Aux Sable Creek runs low and clear and the fields west of Channahon start turning at the edges, gold creeping in under all that green. Fisher's Lawn and Landscape works through those weeks on a route of mowing, string trimming along fence lines, edging the walks and hauling the season's clippings off. There is something worth taking pride in when a whole property is cut, trimmed and blown clean in a single visit — the place suddenly looks like somebody loves it. Then the wind swings around to the northwest, and the same hands run plow, shovel and salt so a family can back out of the garage on a January morning without a second thought.
