About Wunder Grun LLC

In Champaign the land lies flat and open, so winter arrives sideways — wind gathering speed across the bean stubble west of town, then dragging it over Curtis Road in long white ropes. Wunder Grun LLC keeps the hours nobody else wants, when the lamps along Prospect are still the only light and the Boneyard runs black between its banks. The work is plowing and shoveling: drives and parking lots opened up, walks cut down to bare concrete, salt laid where the afternoon melt refolds into ice by morning. There is a plain pleasure in the last pass, the snow pile squared off at the lot's edge, the mailbox reachable again, the entry swept clean to the door. By the time the campus stirs and traffic loosens onto Neil Street, the ground has already been handed back. That is the whole ambition — Champaign, Urbana and Savoy leaving on time.
