All Season Maintenance

About All Season Maintenance

Downtown Champaign keeps a creek in its pocket — the Boneyard, running low and dark beneath the First Street bridges — and in January the whole grid above it goes white and silent before anyone is awake. All Season Maintenance works that hour, when a night of northwest wind has stacked drifts against every north-facing door and the drives have to be open before the first alarm clock goes off. By April the same routes turn green, and a Champaign lawn gets read the way you read a familiar block: where it holds water, where the sun scorches it, where the edge wants to land. Snow removal and lawn care are two halves of one long conversation with flat ground and an enormous sky. The payoff is quiet and complete — a clean line at the curb, and somebody stepping out to pavement already handled.
