STL snow removal and salting

About STL snow removal and salting

River-city storms have their own character: wet, heavy, and quick to freeze once the sun drops behind the western bank. STL snow removal and salting plows through that — driveways, walks and lots opened, edges pushed back so the next round has somewhere to go, and salt laid down before the refreeze instead of after. Timing the treatment is most of the trade; a spread made half an hour early saves the whole morning. Black pavement under a gray sky is about as satisfying as winter gets around here. Centreville, Cahokia Heights, Sauget and the neighboring towns fall inside the run.
