October empties the sweetgums, hackberries and silver maples all at once, and a week later the yard is ankle deep. MLZ Lawn Services keeps mowing while there is anything left to mow, then turns to leaves — off the turf, out of the beds, off the walks, and away from the drains that matter so much on ground this low. The last cut of the year is a particular pleasure: short, even, the lawn put down properly for the cold. Spring and summer it is the steady beat of mowing, edging and trimming. Centreville and the surrounding towns are served all the way through the growing season.
