On a July morning in Casey the shade falls in long bars across the lawns while the town is still deciding to wake up. Pogue Landscape & Lawn is out in it early, mowing before the heat climbs, laying passes that follow the lot and keeping the turn tight at the flowerbed. String trimming cleans what the mower cannot reach, around the light pole, the fence corner, the tree ring, and then the walks and drive come clean so the finish shows. Casey draws people who come to stand beside big things and take a picture, and a kept yard is part of what they pass on the way. When fall arrives the leaves are pulled off the grass, and the lawn goes into winter tidy.
