About HERNANDEZ SNOW SERVICES INC.

Old Town sits east of the Fox in a tight grid of older blocks, and after a night of snow it goes very quiet — every roofline soft, every parked car a white loaf. Then the trucks come through and the day is allowed to start. Driveways get opened, sidewalks cleared the full width so nobody has to step out into the street, salt laid at the corners and the mailbox and the bottom of the steps. Route 25 runs the river's edge and takes the wind straight off the water, so what melts at noon is ice again by five, and the second pass counts as much as the first. Snow work here is measured in one thing only: whether a neighbor got where they were going.
