About This That & Mower

The best part of a plowed street in Canton is the morning after — hard blue sky, drifts with sharp shadows, kids out before the salt trucks. This That & Mower does the part that happens before that: plowing driveways, clearing lots and shoveling walks in the dark hours while it is still coming down. Snow that arrives off the Illinois River valley to the west tends to be wet and heavy, the kind that wants two passes and a wide blade. Done well, nobody thinks about it at all — they just back out and go. That quiet is the compliment.
