Out in this corner of Douglas County the horizon is a straight line broken only by a grain leg and the dark shape of a farmstead grove, and the wind never entirely quits. Beez Trees keeps the mowing and trimming going through the long prairie summer around Camargo — the yard, the ditch bank, and the ground under the shade trees where nothing much wants to grow. Fall means leaves, and out here they travel; a cleanup turns into chasing them out of the windbreak and hauling the pile away. In September the light goes gold across the corn and a mown yard is the tidiest thing for miles. The Embarras country grows more grass than people driving through would guess.
