Follow any fence line, alley crack or run of gravel along the rail beds and you will see what grows here when nobody argues with it. Nogreen Vegetation Control does the arguing — unwanted growth knocked back along fences, walks, drives and lot edges, with mowing and trimming keeping the turf side in line. Midsummer is the real contest; by then the volunteers stand shoulder-high anywhere that went unwatched. The payoff is a clean boundary, a gravel yard that reads as maintained, a sidewalk with an edge instead of a fringe. Calumet ground is generous — the whole trick is choosing what it gets to be generous with.
