Saturday morning: the trailer ramp drops with a clang, the mower rolls off, and another Calumet block gets its week's haircut. Chris scaping runs lawn work through the warm stretch — cut, trim, edge, haul away whatever the season sheds — then swaps the deck for a blade once the pavement starts to whiten. The cold-weather job is driveways, front walks and steps cleared and treated, the path to a door made safe before anybody slips on it. Out past the houses the Burnham Greenway lies quiet under fresh snow; the streets get no such luxury. Somebody has to open them, and that is the work.
