About Barker Trucking and Excavating, INC

US 40, the old National Road, runs right through Brownstown, the same route that once carried wagons west across Fayette County. Barker Trucking and Excavating, INC, a trucking and excavating company at home here, also handles lawn care, holding the grass in check through the long, humid south-central Illinois summer. In July the cicadas buzz in the oaks, the corn stands taller than the fence posts, and the lawns never stop growing. People who move earth for a living understand grade and ground, and that sensibility carries into a yard cut level and trimmed close along the road. A mown lawn beside an old highway is a plain, welcome sign that home starts here.
