Brookfield keeps two clocks. In January it is a plow and a shovel before the first inbound train, drives and walks opened down to bare pavement, salt on the ice at the bottom of the front steps. In June it is mowers and trimmers, edges running true along the sidewalk squares, beds mulched dark. Gardenworks Land and Lawn runs both halves — snow plowing and ice control through the cold months, mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups the rest of the year. A village looks after itself, and this is part of how that happens.
