Doran's Landscape

About Doran's Landscape

Blue Island earned its name honestly: a ridge of high ground that once stood above the marshes like an island, and the streets still climb it. Doran's Landscape plows and clears those slopes through winter, when a driveway pitched toward the road turns slick before anything else in the neighborhood does. A blade and a bag of salt do most of the talking; timing does the rest, since a hill opened early stays open far longer than one left to pack down. Walks, steps and drives all get cleared, because on a grade the walk matters every bit as much as the pavement. Looking back down a cleared hill street at first light is a fine way to end a long night.
