Brothers in Lawn

About Brothers in Lawn

Franklin Park keeps some of the oldest shade in Bloomington, and the streets around it ask for two very different kinds of care. In the warm months Brothers in Lawn is mowing and trimming under those big canopies, edging the walks so the brick and the turf each keep to their own side. Come February, the same blocks go silent and white, and the work turns to plowing driveways, clearing sidewalks and putting down ice melt where the shade never lets a slick spot go. Prairie snow does not fall so much as travel, riding a west wind until it stacks against a garage door — so the job is often done twice and done early. Between the green season and the hard one, these yards stay walkable, and that is the whole point.
