The year in Blackberry Township turns twice, and Blue Spruce Landscapes turns with it. Spring brings the mowers out along the creek bottoms, where grass comes in thick and fast and wants cutting every week until August heat slows it down. Then the light goes low and thin, the fields go bare, and the same trucks carry a plow blade instead. Clearing a driveway at dawn and edging a lawn in July are really the same job: making a place look cared for from the road. Between the two halves, there is hardly a month in Blackberry with nothing worth doing.
