Betts Greenery

About Betts Greenery

There is a week each spring in Beverly when the grass turns a green so bright it almost hums, the color that follows an April soaking and a few warm afternoons. Betts Greenery lives for that turn. The work is lawn care at its plainest and most rewarding: first cuts set at a gentle height, winter's matted corners raked loose, thin patches tended so the new growth has room to fill in. A yard looked after this way carries its spring color deep into the year, holding on while the summer heat gathers. It is a small, steady joy to step outside and find the grass looking the way May promised it would.
