Winkler Tree & Lawn Care

About Winkler Tree & Lawn Care

Bellwood is a village of brick bungalows on square lots, with Addison Creek slipping along behind the fences and a train going by often enough to set the clock. Winkler Tree & Lawn Care keeps the small, particular lawns that come with those houses — the parkway strip, the narrow side yard, the ten feet between a walk and a porch. Mowing runs on a steady rotation from April on, with trimming close to foundations and fence posts and every clipping swept off the sidewalk before the truck moves. October is the long month: leaves off the grass and out of the corners before rain packs them into a mat. Kept up like that, a block of narrow yards can look as generous as any wide one.
