Old maples shade Mascoutah Avenue so heavily that the grass beneath them grows thin and particular, and a block on, the cathedral spire pins the Belleville skyline in place. Lawn Mex Inc and Tree Service moves through those streets on a weekly rotation, mowing and trimming and keeping the edges tight where sidewalk meets turf. When winter arrives the same routes get run with a blade and a spreader instead, driveways opened and walks made safe underfoot.
