About spears snow removel

There is a particular cold that comes up off the Illinois River in January — damp, patient, and Beardstown wears it for weeks at a stretch. Ice gathers along the levee road, snow blows in flat lines across the bottoms, and by daybreak every drive in town has a ridge across its mouth. spears snow removel is out in it, plowing driveways and lots, cutting walks and steps down to the surface, laying salt on the spots that will glaze again after dark. The work gets measured in access: a truck that can leave, a mail carrier who can reach the box, a neighbor who can get to the car. When the sun finally comes up over the water, the pavement is black and the day can begin.
