At six in the morning the maples over Batavia Avenue are still dripping, and every lawn in town is silver with dew that soaks a pair of boots through by the second yard. Green Thumb Brown Boots LLC is named for exactly that trade — the green comes from somebody getting their boots wet early. The work is lawn care, plainly stated: mowing, trimming, edging and seasonal cleanups on a route through Batavia's neighborhoods. There is pride in ordinary things done consistently — even cut height, clean lines, nothing left blown across the drive. By the time the town is properly awake the grass is already down and drying.
